Plane Sailing

Austrian Airlines were extremely efficient at Heathrow. they gave us our tickets and booked our baggage through all the way to Kathmandu, despite our planned overnight stay in Vienna.

The flight was easy (and comfortable). We were met at Vienna airport by Trogyal who drove us the 50 minute trip to his house.

Trogyal and Dzudrul live in a large house in the hills overlooking Vienna. Although we have known them for years this was our first opportunity to stay with them.

Although it was only a short stay, it was a welcome break in our journey, a chance to sample Austrian food and beer and a great chance just to relax and chat for a few hours.

We arrived in the dark in the evening, and because of our early check-in, we left in the dark in the morning. But we slept well and were most refreshed for the final leg of the journey.
